Prickett's Nursery began back in 1941. Harry C. Prickett received his nursery license and grew and sold specimen Chrysanthemums and Fuchsias. In 1945, Harry and his wife Nelle moved to Rincon Valley. His son Harold became very interested in the nursery business and purchased 3 1/2 acres adjacent to his father's property on Calistoga Rd and hwy 12. He and his wife Docia built a home on the property and moved from Oakland with their 3 young children, Mick, Jerry & Pat.

By 1947 Harry and his son Harold and wife Docia spent all their time developing Prickett's Nursery on Calistoga Rd. In 1965 Harry passed away, leaving the entire operation to Harold and Docia. Their 3 children, Mick, Jerry and Pat grew up at the nursery and as their abilities grew from weeding, watering and growing plants, so did their interest.

In 1982, Harold retired, selling his and Docia's ownership of the nursery stock to their 3 now grown children, Mick, Jerry & Pat. The siblings ran a very successful nursery, until deciding to retire in June 2008, turning over ownership of the nursery business to Jerry's daughter, Denise Baxter and two long-time employees, Deanna Tubbs and David Kinney.

The new trio, Denise, Deanna and David reopened the nursery in October 2008 with renewed energy and vision in it's original location, leasing the property space from former owners, Mick, Jerry and Pat, until their plans to develop the property came to fruition 7 years later.

With the desire to keep a nursery alive and growing here in Sonoma County, the trio found not 1 but 2 new spaces to call home!

In February 2015, after a lot of work, we opened up both our Rincon Valley Melita Rd location and our Healdsburg location.

We have been challenged over the years with recession, personal illnesses & hardships, covid, drought, fires and flooding, but are determined to weather any storm.

We feel so grateful to be able to continue doing what we love. We hope our passion for plants and gardening shows. We are always working hard to create spaces of calm, beauty and inspiration for our customers to come find some joy. Whether that means taking home a new colorful plant or a whole new landscape to bring new life to your home spaces or bringing the kiddos to our Healdsburg location to visit our adorable chickens and beautiful fish.
